The APPLET tag is used to include
JAVA
applets as part of your page's content. JAVA represents an extreamly portable
and powerfull programming language. Not all browsers can support JAVA, and
even among those that do, support varies.
One should consider JAVA as an enhancement to a page as opposed to its sole
content, as it does present a load both to the bandwidth as well as the
clients computer.
This TAG has been depreciated in HTML 4.0 in preference to the
new tag.
