INTRODUCTION

erver Side includes provide some very usefull abilities in the realm of dynamicly produced web pages. For example with SSI you can include the current date as well as information about the last update of the file being viewed, and additionally you can include content generated on-the-fly by programs on your server. The syntax of SSI and how to implement it in your pages will be covered in this chapter.
NOTE
Not all systems support SSI due to perceived security problems. There is indeed some reality to those concerns but the problem by and large is over-rated.
SSI implementations are in-consistant, so your milage may vary , and you are encouraged to consult the documentation for YOUR server.
